What You’ll Do
This pivotal role will collaborate closely with our CEO and Executive Leadership team to scale our business and revolutionize the benefits industry through innovative, technology-driven products. As COO, you will oversee operations with a strong focus on leveraging technology, data, and automation to ensure seamless coordination and sustainable growth. Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive oversight of company operations and employee productivity, fostering a highly inclusive culture that empowers team members to thrive while achieving organizational goals.
Collaborate closely with the CEO and Executive Team to define and drive the organizational vision, operational strategy, and hiring requirements.
Translate strategic objectives into actionable steps for scalability, implementing organization-wide goal setting, performance management, and annual operations planning.
Champion technology adoption and digital transformation initiatives across operations to improve efficiency, scalability, and customer experience.
Manage capital investments and expenses, including labor efficiency ratios, aligning with investor targets for sustained growth and profitability.
Cultivate and maintain trusting relationships with key customers, clients, partners, and stakeholders to enhance collaboration and support the overall success of the organization.
Maintain robust relationships and partnerships with the CEO and board members, ensuring consistent and open communication while offering guidance to enhance governance.
Implement diverse initiatives to coach and optimize employee capabilities throughout the organization.
Take ownership of staffing models and capacity planning across various departments within the organization.
Drive a performance and learning culture by holding both the team and colleagues accountable in a mutually respectful manner, fostering continuous improvement.
Oversee and contribute to the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
Develop a comprehensive strategy and key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure the operations function operates at a best-in-class level.
Ensure operational systems, SaaS platforms, and infrastructure are optimized for scalability, security, and compliance.
Leverage data analytics and reporting tools to monitor performance, identify trends, and inform strategic decisions.
Dive deep into operational details when necessary—maintain a hands-on approach to critical processes, ensuring no gaps between strategy and execution.
Own end-to-end inventory management including forecasting, capacity, production, etc. to guarantee accuracy, efficiency, and cost control.
Establish and enforce rigorous inventory controls and reporting standards, leveraging technology and analytics to minimize errors and maximize production.
Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all core operational functions, ensuring clarity and accountability across teams.
Lead cross-functional problem-solving initiatives to address operational bottlenecks quickly and effectively.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices in all operational areas, including inventory and logistics.
What You Bring
We’re looking for someone who’s not just checking boxes but truly excited to make an impact. Here’s what helps you shine in this role:
Executive-level communicator comfortable dealing with the C-suite and key stakeholders of our customers.
Capable cross-functional collaborator and major contributor on the executive team.
Proven track record of managing complex budgets, P&Ls, and financial models.
Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, both at the executive level and with peers and cross-functional teams. Can clearly articulate ideas, frame problems, and offer solutions.
Deep knowledge of the US Benefits Market, especially CDH and COBRA – preferable.
Committed to joining and completing this journey through its eventual goal of a sale or IPO.
Demonstrated leadership skills with a blend of analytical, creative, and strategic talents to effectively communicate, motivate, and inspire cross-functional teams with professionalism and clarity.
Strong technical acumen with experience in SaaS platforms, cloud-based systems, and digital tools that enable operational efficiency.
Ability to define and analyze product and operational metrics, leveraging data-driven insights to influence success.
Comfortable evaluating and implementing technology solutions, automation tools, and integrations to streamline processes.
Adhere to company, federal, state, and local business requirements, enforcing compliance and taking action when necessary.
SaaS platform experience – preferable.
